Blackadder Is Back! Royal Mail Celebrates the Sitcom's 40th Anniversary with 12 Special Stamps

Royal Mail is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the classic comedy Blackadder with the release of twelve special stamps! The stamps feature some of the show's best-loved characters, played by well-known names such as Tony Robinson, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Tim McInnerny, Miranda Richardson, Brian Blessed and the late Patsy Byrne.

The stamps feature moments spanning four series of the sitcom, and four of them depict Edmund Blackadder in his various guises throughout the series. Each stamp is a delightful reminder of some of the greatest moments of Blackadder, and they're sure to be a hit with fans of the show.

Blackadder co-creator, Richard Curtis, said: “We’re very amused and delighted. It’s a great relief for Blackadder to have his head on a stamp, instead of on a stake.”

The stamps can be pre-ordered from today (12 May) at www.royalmail.com/blackadder, by telephone on 03457 641 641 and at 7,000 Post Office branches across the UK. A Presentation Pack including all 12 stamps in the set is priced at £19.60 and will be available for general sale on 17 May 2023.
