ITV Announces Gary Barlow's South African Epic: A Journey of Wine, Gastronomy, and Adventure

ITV has confirmed that Gary Barlow, renowned musician and entrepreneur, will be returning to the screen for a brand new travel series set to premiere this autumn. The series, comprising five episodes, will showcase Barlow's passion for exploring new culinary delights, particularly in the realm of food and wine.

Gary Barlow, known for his illustrious career in music as a member of Take That and as a solo artist, will now take viewers on a journey through the captivating landscapes and rich culture of South Africa. Expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming series, Barlow shared, "I’m absolutely delighted to be exploring my passion for food, wine and travel in this new series for ITV."

Barlow's affection for South Africa is no secret, and the series will delve into his deep-rooted appreciation for the country, extending beyond its stunning vistas and wildlife. Notably, Barlow has a burgeoning interest in the wine industry, making him an ideal guide for viewers eager to learn about South Africa's wine culture.

The journey will commence in the Western Cape, where Barlow will immerse himself in the region's renowned vineyards, gaining insight into grape cultivation and sustainability practices. From there, Barlow will venture further north, exploring Johannesburg and embarking on a safari to discover the diverse flavours and experiences that South Africa has to offer. Of particular interest will be Barlow's exploration of the burgeoning wine revolution taking place in Johannesburg, reflecting his keen entrepreneurial spirit and interest in the evolving landscape of South African wine.

The announcement has generated considerable excitement among ITV executives and production partners. Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment at ITV, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, "His passion and commitment for this project is truly captivating, so I’m sure he’ll have our ITV audience gripped throughout this South African adventure."
