Netflix Delivers a Double Dose of Wednesday, Renewing Season 2!

The network that brought us the hit series Wednesday has given us another reason to rejoice – they have officially renewed the show for a second season!

The news was announced on the streaming giant's companion site Tudum, with showrunner Miles Millar giving fans a small glimpse of what’s to come: “[The stalker proves] that threats remain out there… to both Wednesday and the school. Not all not loose ends have been tied up neatly as she thinks they have.”

The announcement was accompanied by a short video teaser on social media, which promised more “torture” ahead for Wednesday in Season 2. Star Jenna Ortega shared her thoughts on the show’s leading lady, saying “[Wednesday] sticks to her guns, and she’s not out to please anybody. Which, as someone who used to be an immense people pleaser, I really respect.”

It is clear that Wednesday has taken the world by storm, as Netflix’s own record was broken twice in the show’s first week alone, with 341.23 million hours viewed and 411.29 million hours viewed in subsequent weeks.

Showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough revealed to Tudum, “It’s been incredible to create a show that’s connected with people across the world. We’re thrilled to continue Wednesday’s torturous journey into Season 2.”

Although details are still to come, one thing is for sure: we can’t wait to see what Wednesday has in store for us in Season 2!
