TNA Wrestling Exercises Its Option to Extend Contract of Josh Alexander

TNA Wrestling has officially exercised its option to extend the contract of Josh Alexander, confirming the news through an announcement reported by Sports Illustrated. While the specific terms of the contract were not disclosed, this move solidifies Alexander's status as a key figure in TNA's wrestling landscape.

Alexander, a highly accomplished wrestler in TNA history, has made significant contributions since joining the roster in early 2019. Renowned for his prowess in both singles and tag team competition, he made his professional wrestling debut back in 2005 and has since become a standout performer within the promotion.

Among his many achievements, Alexander holds an impressive resume, including two reigns as the World Tag Team Champion as part of The North, where he and his partner achieved the distinction of being the longest-reigning World Tag Team Champions in company history, boasting an impressive reign of 380 days. Additionally, he secured the TNA X-Division Championship in 2021, holding the title for 151 days before invoking Option C to pursue a World Championship opportunity, which led to him becoming a two-time former TNA World Champion, with his longest reign lasting an impressive 335 days.

In light of the contract extension, Alexander expressed his excitement, stating, "With the rebranding and the return of those iconic letters, TNA, those letters that inspired me to get in the ring in the first place and chase this wild dream of being a wrestler, I’ve dreamt of that moment, being there at Hard To Kill, hearing those letters."

Furthermore, Alexander outlined his personal goals, including aspirations to capture both the TNA World and X-Division Championships, solidifying his place as one of TNA's most ambitious and driven competitors.

TNA Wrestling president Anthony Cicione also shared his enthusiasm for Alexander's continued presence within the promotion, stating, "Josh Alexander is one of the most popular wrestlers in TNA Wrestling history. We’re thrilled to see that his run in TNA will continue."

As TNA looks towards the future, fans can anticipate exciting upcoming events, including "NO SURRENDER" on February 23 at the Alario Center in New Orleans, followed by "BAYOU BLAST" on February 24, taped for iMPACT! on AXS TV. In addition to Alexander, other TNA stars scheduled to appear in New Orleans include reigning TNA World Champion Moose, X-Division Champion Chris Sabin, and TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace.

With Josh Alexander's contract extension and a slate of exciting events on the horizon, TNA Wrestling continues to showcase its commitment to delivering top-tier wrestling entertainment to audiences worldwide.
