Welcome to Nevermore Academy, the world’s premier school for monsters, outcasts, and freaks and the new home of Wednesday Addams in Netflix's television series Wednesday. Founded in 1791, Nevermore Academy is a unique academic institution that nurtures the extraordinary abilities of its students through world-class academics and unique extracurriculars. From its unique design to its signature uniform, Nevermore Academy is a place where students can embrace their differences and feel like they belong.

Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) is the principal at Nevermore Academy, the magical school at the center of Netflix's Wednesday series. Weems has a long history with Wednesday's mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), which gives her a unique understanding of Wednesday's situation. She can empathise with Wednesday's feelings of being overshadowed by Morticia's success, glamor, and confidence.

At the same time, Weems is not a pushover. She is a woman who has had to work hard to gain the position she holds, and is determined to protect her status and the status quo of the school that she has created.

“Nevermore is a safe haven for our students to learn and grow no matter who they are. For over 200 years we have welcomed Outcasts of all kinds -- werewolves, vampires, sirens and gorgons. As Principal it is my honor to announce that Nevermore is now accepting applications from everybody. I extend my personal invitation to each and everyone of you to apply to our very unique school.”

Morticia Addams

Morticia is portrayed as a strong, independent woman, and an icon of dark femininity. She’s a powerful witch and a formidable matriarch of the Addams family. She’s both a loving mother and an intimidating presence, and she’s fiercely protective of her family.

Oozing with style, Morticia’s wardrobe is a mix of gothic punk and classic Hollywood glamour. Her signature look of a black dress, jet black hair, and pale complexion is both timeless and haunting. Her fashion choices boldly reflect her personality and provide a sense of comfort and security to her family.

Years ago, Morticia was at the top of the Nevermore social hierarchy as a student at the academy. But she’s harboring secrets of her own about that time.

“Nevermore holds a special place in my black heart. It’s where I met and fell in love with my husband, Gomez. I am so proud that my daughter, Wednesday, is following in our shadows and joining the Outcast class of 2027.”

Gomez Addams

Gomez is the embodiment of the classic Latin lover; he is passionate, romantic and unbridled in his affections for his beloved Morticia. The two share a deep and abiding love that has stood the test of time after falling for each other at Nevermore. Gomez is a devoted husband and father, and he will do anything to protect his family.

However, Gomez has a mysterious past that still hangs over him and his family. He has a long-standing connection to the town of Jericho, where a decades-old deadly mystery still remains unsolved. With his daughter Wednesday’s unwavering tenacity, it’s likely that this mystery will eventually be unraveled.

Ignatius is a mysterious character, an expert on all things spooky and supernatural He is also known to be a great prankster, playing jokes on the other members of the family.

“Members of my family have been attending Nevermore for generations. It’s the source of so many unforgettable memories -- late-night seances, dancing at the Dark Prom, fencing to the death -- what fun!”

Edgar Allen Poe

Edgar Allen Poe is one of the most renowned and fascinating figures in American literature. Known as the master of macabre, Poe is best remembered for his creepy tales and dark poetry. His works often explore themes of death, horror, and insanity, and his stories are still widely read and studied today.

Despite his naturally gloomy disposition, the atmosphere at Nevermore Academy fostered his morbid imagination. He was exposed to a variety of literature, which inspired some of his darkest works.

Nevermore Academy Students

Most students at Nevermore Academy have always known they were different. They might have started seeing ghosts at a young age, or had inexplicable powers that set them apart from their peers. Others only discovered their abilities after attending Nevermore. Regardless of when they realised they were different, the students all have one thing in common: they're ready to learn how to control their powers and use them for good. Here are some of the students of Nevermore:

Wednesday Addams

Wednesday Adams, the daughter of Gomez and Morticia Adams, is now 15 years old and attending Nevermore Academy. Wednesday is fearless and unapologetically smart, and she is determined to use her burgeoning psychic abilities to investigate a monstrous killing spree plaguing the area around Nevermore.

“The students at Nevermore have been smothering me with hospitality. I hope to return the favor - in their sleep.”

Bianca Barclay

Bianca Barclay is one of the most interesting characters in Netflix’s Wednesday. As the queen bee of Nevermore Academy, Bianca is fiercely protective of her status — that is, until Wednesday shows up. Sunday Mullen, who plays Bianca, is able to bring depth to the character, exploring Bianca’s family secrets and other struggles. As the show progresses, we start to see how Bianca and Wednesday have more in common than either of them realise.

“As a siren, class valedictorian and reigning champion of the Poe Cup, I have truly become the most enchanting version of myself at Nevermore.”

Enid Sinclair

Enid Sinclair is the lovable yet often misunderstood werewolf. Despite being a member of the supernatural crowd, Enid has yet to fully experience the transformation process and thus feels ostracised from the community. Enid is the direct opposite of Wednesday, often being described as “super bubbly” and full of school spirit.

Enid is a late bloomer when it comes to werewolf transformation and as such, she has yet to learn how to stand up for herself. But with Wednesday as her roommate, Enid is learning how to accept and love herself and how to stand up for what she believes in.

Xavier Thorpe

On the surface, Xavier is a privileged prep school student, but a deeper look reveals he’s a person with a lot of secrets. Everything is not as it seems with Xavier, as he navigates his feelings for Wednesday and his own unique abilities. Xavier is a psychic painter who has the ability to see visions that come to life in his artwork. He is known to have a “sense of entitlement,” which is challenged by the inquisitive Wednesday, who is intrigued by Xavier’s mysterious ways.
